Default Poker Ruling?

I have a question about a hand I was involved in this past Friday night in our club tournament. Blings were at 800/1600, I was big blind, person on the button puts in a 2000 raise, it folds around to me and I call with KQs. Flops comes K J 6 rainbow. Preflop raiser checks, I bet 3000, he checks his cards and yells foul. He turns over pocket 3's however, he has three 3's as two are stuck together. Table yells mis-deal, everyone agrees but me. Furthermore, everyone wants back in, even the small bling wants his money back. I have never heard of such an incident, and being out numbered for sure, we start over. I thought at the least, that just the two of us would replay the hand, as everyone else was already out. My gut tells me that he had a dead hand, disqualified, and the pot should have been mine. Would like to know how it truly should have been dealt with. Any help?
