Default Poker help! (hold'em)?

So, me and about 5 friends play a regular cash game, we used to play tournament style, but they decided to switch. I was a strong advocate of switching to cash game, but now it seems ridiculous, because:Blinds are .25/.50 even though most players have $20, except one guy that always brings $30.2 people are always pushing making pre-flop cost $1-3What should I do to be able to make more profit? At the moment I limp in wherever possible, and raise when I have a good hand.the last couple of times we've played it has turned out like thisStarting money---ending$25----$27$10----$10$20----$50$20-(rebuy $10)(rebuy $5- total $35)----$0(some very bad beats this time)I'm a tight player, and find it really hard to make a lot of money in these games. Should I keep pushing for the .20/.10 blinds, or what are some new play styles I can try out?NOTE- the people I play with have not been playing long, neither have I. We're just high school students.

Limit the raises, which is the way Limit should be played. Pre-flop&flop that means you're looking at $2 max. Max should go up to $1 at the turn (and river) with 3 raise limit means max $4 per round. That is still pretty expensive if your nut is $20, consider going to .1/.2 or .15/.30.

Stop limping in.You are only playing with $20. 4 times"limping in"is 10% of your stack. That's really not enough to play .25/.50, because you are right, preflop raises would have to be in the $2 range.On-line, I'll always bring $50 to play at those stakes.Personally, with a small group of friends, I think tourney is better. To make money at cash games you need to be really good (which as you said, none of you are), or really patient. And being patient can get really boring.
