either can be more profitable, it depends on the game which you are better at personally and also the skill level of your opponents...the game itself doesn't make it more or less profitable, but the swings change between games...for example, in no-limit the swings are often much bigger because you play a lot more big pots, while in limit it is easier to make a steady income without a great deal of riskthe most important skills of no-limit are hand-reading ability and discipline...you simply have to be able to put your opponents on a hand in key situations in NLHE, and that's all there is to it...and you need to be able to stay off tilt and handle bad beats the way you should, because not only will it look look bad for you to be a bad loser but it will cost you money over time since you will play worsein limit, the key skills are value betting and hand selection...you have to have the heart to value bets marginal hands on the river and get every bet you can out of your opponents, because the chances to bluff are few and far between, and your opponents are priced in often, so it's worth it to try to pick up an extra bet on the end most of the time...also, hand selection is very important, but not in the respect that most people would think...it is important to know when to throw away your good hands, and call with trash...for example, a tight player raises from early position and you have A-Q, you should probably end up throwing it away because you're likely to be beat...but now, a loose player raises on the button and you're in the big blind with 9-2 of spades, but you have to call because you're getting a good price to call and you could win a lot of money from a wild player if you flop something
