Default How many pictures can a website with a 100 megs limit hold?

I am looking for a website for my family. I want to be able to upload pictures, sound clips and videos. I found a website that has a template and I have a limit of 100 megs for my website. How much is that? Can it hold 1000 regular sized pictures?

Depends on the size of the photos. If you want to know if it will hold all your pictures just select them and see how big they are all together.

A typical 1600x1200 pixels picture is about 1 Mb. So if you reduce it to 800x600 pixels, it might be around 500 kb, which is about 200 pictures.Video however is much bigger. Size will depend on movie duration, compression and format. For a small family site, 100 Mb is okay, but you might need to look for something bigger...Good luck!

Well it depends on the size/quality of picture. Lets say a decent jpeg is 100Kb in size. Then you can hold 1000 pictures(roughly). But it all depends on the filesize of your uploaded material

Depends on the sized of the uploaded picture. Some sites that have online albums automatically size down the images to fit their limits. See if there are size limits on the web site. The size of an image file depends on the image dimensions, dpi and quality of jpg compression. Screen resolution is usually 72dpi, and the dimensions of the image on screen are usually limited to be viewable on an 800x600 screen. The higher the compression, the smaller the file but the less quality of the image.Sites might also have restrictions on movie files: file type (mov, flv, swf...) the length and the dimensions.

It really depends on how big (how many kilobytes or megabytes) your photos are. If you have an image editor, you can make the file size of each individual picture smaller (like from 450 kilobytes to maybe 35 kilobytes). This, in turn, will allow you to upload MANY more pictures to your website. The image editor I use is called Irfanview, so if you want it you can just search"Irfanview"in your search box. There are others, too.

Well, I think you will be able to upload around 1500 pictures easily. Uploading videos and sound clips will be rough to approximate depending on the length of these videos. But in general, the 100 megs should suffice.
