Default Did I make the right move in this no-limit holdem tournament?

There are 30/60 people left in the tourney and only top 5 pay. The blinds are 150/300 and the antes are 100. I have 10K in chips. Someone in early position with 25K raises to 1500. A seemingly loose player with 15K calls for 1500. With blinds/bets/antes, there is 4.5K in the pot. I am on the button with AK. I move all-in and get one caller with QQ and the QQ holds up knocking me out. Did I make the right move?

I don't think so. With AK you're chasing cards. It would cross my mind that another player had a pair in hand.

No...you shouldn't have gone all in. knowing that someone probably has pocket something...you dont even have a pair.

Yes and no, The pot odds where right, you where a 38% underdog to win the pot but the odds where right at 400%. However, the best way to play that hand is to call and see, with 10k in chips, you could have called off 1500 and not been hurt. If you flop the A or K then you push in, if you don't you fold and live to the next hand.

I don't think so.First off you are not in dire need of moving in with the blinds where they are.Secondly you get a raise to five times the big blind, followed by a caller. Generally, against one player you might be able to bully them out of the pot, but against two opponents, odds are one of them has a pocket pair. Realistically, your best hope is that one of them has something like AQ, AJ or KQ. But that is still hoping a lot.If any of the two players has a pocket pair, they have you beaten. It's a coin flip, with you being a slight underdog.I like your move with AA or KK, but with AK you are hoping to improve. Without a bit of luck, you are going home here.I also like your move if it were against one raiser. But against a raiser AND a caller, I don't like it as much.

I'm sorry to say no you did not. A-K is one of the most over played hands in poker. Now pre flop it is a very strong hand, but it is only a drawing hand, plus the fact that your going to miss the flop 2/3rds of the time anyways make this hand a good one to over-play and go broke on. The blinds here are low in relation to your stack at this point, so you are in no danger of going broke. Also the players in the pot have you covered. If i ever go all in with A-K in any pot i make sure i have more chips then the other players, so if i do loss the hand i still can play on. You also way over-bet the pot and ended up in a coin flip for all your chips against a player who has you out chipped. I think i just call and see a flop first in this situation. And when you miss the flop and the queens bet, you can get out of the way and you still have 8500 in chips, well above what the blinds were. Now if the blinds were 500-1000, then i see no issue at all pushing all in since you would only have 10 times the blinds, but withthe blinds so low you should have just called here and saw a flop. By pushing all-in you have to win the pot, you now can't bluff on the flop, play position, or fold your hand if you missed the flop, you have left no optitions at all.
