Default Do you have to have a big blind in no-limit Texas holdem?

Ex. A player gets knocked out, who was due to be the big blind the next hand, thus leaving the big blind spot unoccupied

The best way to think about it is that the big blind is the most important bet, and it cannot be'dead'and it cannot skip a player. So figure out where the big blind should go, then decide if the small blind is dead, and put the button where it needs to be.There is always a big blind every single hand. If the person who was supposed to be the next big blind is knocked out, then the next player clockwise takes the big blind.
