Are the really large ones too tough? The ones that have 1500 people and more? I've played 18 tournaments (buyins of 30.00 each) and I've made it to 11th and 14th. I can't seem to get to the final table where the big money is.

80% luck, 20% skill. Always some turd calling a hand that should not be called. It has become so saturated, that real poker talent is hard to come by now days. If you always place low, and which I say low, 11th, with over 50 people, is low, you can consider yourself a decent player. I have played with upwards or 400 people, and it is tough, cause money is money, and some people just have plenty of it and can throw it away.

It really all depends on your skill and the amount of time you have spent doing researching on the odds. But just let me say odds arn't everything. It's no fun if you don't take risks sometimes, after all they do pay off. Finishing 11th and 14th of 1500 is actually very good. I'd be happy with that. You can't expect to win them all or even get a decent finish every time. You could say luck helps but if you really know what you're doing you could play every hand and even win if you have terrible cards.
