and when should i move up a level

The general consensus amongst the pros is 1/50th or 2% of your bankroll, this gives you achance incase you hit a long losing run, if you lose your betting bank playing at that level means your no good and should give up.My advice is start at at £5 ($10) reduce this if your bank goes below £200 but increase it if you reach £500.You are very lucky to understand the concept of a betting bank, most beginners don't, most beginners get themselves into all sorts of trouble.Remember you can eat your betting money, but never bet your eating moneyHope you have many hours of enjoyment and fungood luck

Depends completely on what game you decide to play. Are you interested in Cash games or Sit and Go and whether you are playing No Limit Texas holdem or Limit Texas holdem.Usually it is said that you should have 300 times big blind for Limit Texas Holdem and between 30-50 buy ins for No Limit.As for Sit and Go you should have around 100 entry fees.Hope that this helped.

Start at $1-$2 limit hold'em. Keep records of what your bankroll is. When you get more experience and have doubled your bankroll move up to the next limit.
