Hello all,

Long time reader, first time poster. I'm generally new to the online poker world and am interested in becoming a stronger online player to generate more $ from my play. I know we live in a day and age of limitless resources so wanted to see what any experienced players have to say as far as where to focus my efforts. I've been reading a few poker books (Winning In Tough Hold'Em Games is my current book I'm reading), have cruised a lot of forums, and even searched "how to become a successful online poker player" on YouTube lol (YouTube actually has some useful new vids up). What and where do you (anyone making some $ at online poker) think I should be putting my time and effort? I appreciate any and all feedback.

The key's are bankrollmanagement, diciplin and faith.
Never buy in higher then 5% of your bankroll and if you go for the MTT's make it 2%. This will make you lose small amounts at the time. This is where also diciplin comes in, but diciplin is also to play solid at all time. Diciplin to stop when you not play well and diciplin to stay on BRM even when you on tilt. If you control those and have faith in yourself. Then in the long run you will become a better player. Maybe even an pro player. You can read as much books as you can, but in the end the best teacher is experience. But here also diciplin comes in to keep learning, reading and analyzing.
I think the best way to play as an beginner is start on the low stakes and hold on to tight passive agressive play style. This is a very diciplined style of play with less risks losing big pots. Once you controlled that and can end sessions with profit I suggest you watch the video's of Daniel Negreanu on youtube called smallball. this is the improved version of tight passive agressive play style without the tight or lets say less tight gameplay, but here you really play more post flop games and needs experience. This is where you gonna call raises with 78 suited and stuff, but I dont suggest to do that when you a starting player. Probelly you allready read this stuff in some books as it is very basic, but remember that poker can be played in many ways. This is the story of a passive agressive player wich works for me
So BRM. diciplin and have a little faith in your self and game. If you think you can handle those 3 and have a lot of fun playing the game I can say why the hack not..? Dont be in for the money though, but for the good game. Im pretty sure you understand that when you have goodgame the money comes along
