Default When I'm playing poker tourny at the beginning I can play?

a good strong game.. But as soon as I'm start making chips I would start becoming cocky or something and screw myself over... Just like for example.. This hand where I missed my straight draw and I went all-in on the river hoping to bluff him out turns he made runner runner for 4 of kind...2nd example... I'm 1 before the money.. I'm in 2nd place on the table.. On the button I get ak, and Im the only one to act.. The guy on the big blind has more chips then me but I figure if I went all he would fold..Turns out he got aa and I bubbled at 19th...Why does it always screw me over like this.... Is ego really a bad thing for poker? If so how does players like mike matsusow and josh arieh become winners with poor attitude?
