Default One more beginner Poker question?

When it's too late to fold in a game like Texas Hold'em, what are you other options if you have a bad hand?Let's say someone goes all in on you and it's now your turn. Please forgive my ignorance on this. I just started learning yesterday.

There's no shame in folding, especially when you know you're beat or someone ahead of you moves all-in and you have nothing. This is all part of the concepts of pot-odds and ratios which are very hard ideas to pick up and learn properly. You'll get a better sense of them over time. For now if you make a bluff bet or a bet when you have weak cards and someone goes over you, get out.

You can fold your hand anytime you want when the action gets to you, if a player has made a bet and you don't want to call then you don't have to. Even if the hand has been checked to you, you can still check out of the hand if you want to, although i would not advise that you ever do so. Even with good hands you sometimes have to fold your hand, the only time i wouldn't lay down my hand even though if i thought i was beat is if i was pot committed, this means i have so much money in the pot that even if i think I'm beat i still have to call, this is called a protected pot.
