Nowadays, the best thing for a new poker player is to set up an account for free on a site like New Page 1 and play in the freeroll tournaments. You win real money if you finish in the top 30. You can also learn by playing on the play money tables.Once you feel like you've mastered those levels, you can move to real money buy ins.ORIf you have money in your life, then you can always take a trip to Vegas and start out at the lower limit tables and work your way up. Whatever you do, make sure that after you play, you reflect on what you did and on how you think you could have played your hands better. Avoid getting into habits. Every poker hand and every poker session should be a thinking session where you think about what your opponent is likely to have.Good luck!
